Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program

Critical Workers Stream

To be eligible for this stream an applicant must:

• Have a full-time long-term job offer from a PEI employer in a low skill occupation ( NOC C skilled level C or D)
• Have worked a minimum of six months full-time for the PEI employer
• Have a valid work permit
• Possess a minimum education of secondary school
• Be between the ages of 18 and 59
• Have at least two years of full-time work experience or relevant education in the past five years
• Provide a language test from an IRCC approved testing institute within the past two years with a minimum score of CLB/NCLC 4

International Graduates Stream

To be eligible for this stream an applicant must:

• Have a full-time long-term job offer from an employer in PEI
• Have a valid post-graduate work permit
• Have successfully completed a degree or diploma from a publicly-funded PEI college or university
• Be between the ages of 18 and 59
• Possess sufficient English and/or French language ability to perform the job offered

PEI Express Entry Stream

To be eligible for this stream an applicant must:

• Have a valid express entry profile
• Demonstrate a connection to the province through a job offer from an employer in PEI or another tie to the province such as previous work or study in PEI

Skilled Workers in PEI Stream

To be eligible for this stream an applicant must:

• Have a full-time long-term job offer from a PEI employer in a skilled occupation ( NOC skill level O, A or B).
• Have a valid work permit.
• Have successfully completed at a minimum a two year post-secondary diploma or degree program ( college or university).
• Be between the ages of 18 and 59.
• Have at least two years of full-time work experience in the past five years.
• Possess sufficient English and French language ability to perform the job offered. Language ability can be verified by providing a language test from an IRCC approved testing institute with a minimum score of CLB/NCLC 4 or an employer signed PEI PNP-L06 Employer Language Declaration.

Skilled Workers Outside Canada Stream

• Have a full-time long-term job offer from a PEI employer in a skilled occupation ( NOC skill level O, A or B). The job offer was be approved by the PEI PNP office prior to application.
• Have successfully completed at a minimum a two year post-secondary diploma or degree program ( college or university).
• Be between the ages of 18 and 59.
• Have at least two years of full-time work experience in the past five years.
• Possess sufficient English and French language ability to perform the job offered. Language ability can be verified by providing a language test from an IRCC approved testing institute with a minimum score of CLB/NCLC 4 or an employer signed PEI PNP-L06 Employer Language Declaration.

PEI PNP Application Process

A broad overview of the process to apply to the PEI PNP is below.

Stage 1: Registration The first step is to create a profile in the Prince Edward Island Express of Interest System.

Stage 2: Invitation Periodically, the PEI Office of Immigration issues invitations to apply (ITA’s) to qualified applicants.

Stage 3: Application If you are invited to apply, you must submit a paper application to the Office of Immigration

Stage 4: Nomination If your application is approved you will receive a confirmation of nomination as a provincial nominee from the PEI PNP

Stage 5: Permanent Residence After receiving a PEI PNP confirmation of nomination, you must submit an application for permanent residence.

Immigration Refugee Citizenship Canada (IRCC) Fees and Processing Times

• Main Applicant-Processing fee $825 and right of permanent residence fee $500
• Spouse or Partner-Processing fee $820 and right of permanent residence fee $500
• Each Dependent Child- Processing Fee of $225

The processing time for an applicant with an Express Entry profile and who has applied to a provincial Express Entry stream is 6 months. The processing time for all other applicants is approximately 18 months.

Proof of Funds

You must show that you have sufficient funds to successfully establish yourself and your family in Canada and to pay your immigration costs and travel expenses (if applicable) at the time of your application for permanent residency to IRCC (as well as at Express Entry profile submission stage). The amount of money you need to s determined by the size of your family, as shown below.

The funds must be in your name or in the name of your accompanying spouse. These funds must be unencumbered by debts or obligations transferable and available to you. Funds must be liquid (i.e. not real estate) and cannot be borrowed. You normally do not have to show that you have these funds if:

• You have a valid job offer (offer of arranged employment) in AND
• You are currently working or authorized to work in Canada

Submission letter: An RCIC will prepare and submit a submission letter on behalf of the applicant along with the application. The submission letter is an important part of the application which summarizes and more importantly demonstrates why you meet the requirements of the visa.
